- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the Orange Layer:
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice (about 2–3 oranges)
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Vanilla Cream Layer:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Garnish:
- Additional orange zest or slices for decoration
Instructions
1. Prepare the Graham Cracker Crust:
- In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.
- Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.
2. Make the Orange Layer:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually mix in the sweetened condensed milk until fully combined.
- Stir in the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Pour the orange layer over the chilled crust and spread evenly. Freeze for 30 minutes to set.
3. Prepare the Vanilla Cream Layer:
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together using a hand mixer or stand mixer until soft peaks form. Add the vanilla extract and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream mixture evenly over the chilled orange layer. Smooth the top with a spatula.
4. Chill and Set:
- Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until the bars are firm and set.
5. Cut and Serve:
- Once set, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares or rectangles. Garnish with additional orange zest or slices if desired.
- Serve chilled and store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
